IBG Business was a key participant in the development of the La Paz–El Alto Cable Car, one of the most extensive and innovative urban cable transportation systems in the world.

Our participation during both the planning and expansion stages helped establish the technical, financial, social, legal, environmental, and institutional foundations required for the implementation of this emblematic sustainable mobility project.

The studies developed by our multidisciplinary team supported decision-making, project viability, intermodal integration, and the orderly expansion of a transportation system that transformed mobility between La Paz and El Alto.

During Phase I, IBG Business designed the roadmap that made it possible to launch the first stage of the urban cable car system.

Our work included market and demand studies, definition of strategic lines, socioeconomic and financial analyses, legal and fare evaluations, master planning, database management, origin–destination studies, and intermodal integration assessments.

These comprehensive studies established the project’s feasibility and ensured that its design responded to the real mobility needs of the population while supporting long-term urban and economic development.

During Phase II, IBG Business expanded the scope and depth of the technical analyses to support the orderly growth of the cable car network.

The work included updated demand projections, socioeconomic assessments, road impact studies, environmental evaluations, regulatory compliance analysis, and technical support for environmental certification.

These studies provided the technical foundation required to continue construction and expansion while ensuring compliance with Bolivian regulations, environmental standards, and the operational needs of the metropolitan area.
